Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ to all our Sponsors, Family, and Friends:
Our last newsletter was June 2007 and as usual there is so much to tell.
First is an announcement!!! We have formed BLAIR HOPE INTERNATIONAL INC.!!! This has become necessary as we have grown so big, so fast (PRAISE THE LORD) Bob has been finding it hard to handle all our funds along with his. We will still be working with Bob Davisson through GLORY BOUND MINISTRIES to raise support for the ongoing works in Haiti, but now the funds we raise will be handled and reported to the Government of Canada through BLAIR HOPE INTERNATIONAL INC.
Another announcement is that we now have a website at www.blairhope.com. Please look it up and let us know what you think. Through out the site, wherever you see something typed in red you can click on it and find out more information. There are also lots of photos with more to follow as soon as possible.
Another announcement is that we have a new CD coming out soon. It is called “Jesus It’s Me Again” and should be out soon. We are planning a CD Launch for sometime in November and will use that to raise funds for our annual Christmas Party with our children in Haiti. More info will follow shortly on that.
Our final announcement is that we are going to Haiti right away on September 4th. We have lots on our schedule for our trip. There is follow up on all the construction since our last trip. We will be there about 2 weeks to get all our schools up and running. We now have 6 schools in 5 villages, with about 800 children attending and a staff of over 50 teachers, cooks, and cleaners. We will be taking photo’s of all the children, updating all the information for their sponsors.
Our two latest schools are opening for the first time this fall in Jacmel and Raymon and all of these students still need to be sponsored. You can do that on our website at www.blairhope.com through pay pal. Click on the sunburst where it says “SPONSOR A CHILD TODAY” OR the old fashioned way by sending us a check or checks totaling $365 made out to BLAIR HOPE INTL. We will be looking at businesses to set up in the future. This will be done to help make all the projects self-supporting. We are considering buses for transportation of people from Jacmel to Port au Prince, Water trucks to transport and sell water in the area, renting out forms for construction and of course our plan for cinder block equipment is still in the works. The profits from these businesses will help fund our next 10 schools. We are looking for sponsors to help with the purchase of vehicles and equipment needed to start up the businesses. The hurricane that went through Haiti a couple of weeks ago devastated their gardens and destroyed many of the fruit trees. We are so thankful that none of our children or their families were killed or injured. We know of one that lost their home. With the loss of their gardens it will put a tremendous strain on the food supply. We plan to provide about 260,000 meals over the next 12 months. Even a small donation can be a big help. The breakdown is as follows:
$100.00 provides...............…600 meals.
$400.00 provides.................2400 meals.
$800.00 provides.................4800 meals.
$1000.00 provides...............6000 meals.
